In ‘The benefits of moving together’ Astrid De Haes researches the different aspects of the body. The body in a community. The remembering body. The discharging body. The learning body.
In her thesis 'the benefits of moving together' she went deeper into contact improvisation and what touch can bring into how a group interacts.
What kind of openness or relationship arises. What can we learn from dancers, a dance climate and dance culture? How does touch affect us and is it a source of information? Can we translate what we see and learn in a dance community to our society and how our organizations or we function together?
Astrid researched how the dance community possesses the ability to organize itself openly and respectfully towards each other and is constantly engaged in ensuring a safe place for everyone.
